What happens when you mix A-list actors, designer fashion, and dramatic storylines? You get Fracture, Balmain's new short-form series with Channel 4. The fashion house recently announced its latest collaboration with the drama series starring Tommy Dorfman, Charles Melton, Jesse Jo Stark, and Ajani Russell. Not only is Fracture the first type of fashion-slash-entertainment partnership for both parties involved, but it will also mark the debut of Olivier Rousteing's Balmain autumn 2021 collection with all of the characters wearing pieces from the line.
"The fashion industry is in need of new narratives and new ideas," Olivier told Variety about the show. "Maybe it was the pandemic that pushed us — but for this year, my team and I were determined to break away from the pack. . . . We spent a lot of time brainstorming and discussing the possibilities of innovative ways of showing the house creations and the ideal manners of reaching wider audiences."
Coinciding with London Fashion Week, Fracture will debut on 2 Sept. with five eight-minute episodes available via Channel 4's YouTube channel, as a box set on All 4, and will be hosted on a bespoke co-branded website created for the series at FractureSeries.com. Watch the trailer above.
