Kristen Stewart Looked Like a Retro Barbie With Pinup Fringe at the Met Gala
Kristen Stewart's appearance at the 2021 Met Gala is one that we're gonna need a moment to process. The actor stepped out at the event on Monday night channelling the 1950s wearing a high ponytail and vintage pinup fringe, and the look is definitely giving us retro Barbie vibes.
Stewart's '50s-inspired style was the handiwork of hairstylist, Adir Abergel, who created a super high ponytail at the crown of her head and rolled the front section of her hair into what was called "bumper fringe" in the 1950s.
"I loved creating this moment for this year's Met Gala with the theme: "IN AMERICA: A LEXICON OF FASHION." Kristen in my muse forever!" Abergel wrote in a caption accompanying a photo of the vintage look. Stewart's new hair colour was also dreamed up by Abergel, who collaborated on the new blonde tone with LA-based colourist Daniel Moon for the actor's appearance at the Venice Film Festival two weeks ago.
Stewart isn't the only star to debut bangs at the Met Gala. Not even a full 24 hours after breaking the internet with her sexy naked dress at the VMAs, Megan Fox showed up at the event wearing jet-black clip-in bangs and a high ponytail braid. Clearly nothing screams American beauty like baby fringe. Take a closer look at Stewart's beauty look for the night ahead.
